Yes, we do Blown-In Too…

While 1000 Islands Spray Foam is your Eastern Ontario spray foam specialist, we heard our customers repeated requests to offer more than just spray foam services.

We are proud to offer our customers full blown-in insulation services, using both fiberglass and cellulose loose fill insulation. This could be for a newly constructed structure, or be an attic “top-up” to bring your building up to current insulation standards.

In most new construction, design standards call for the attic insulation to be at R60. Many older homes or buildings have insulation values of R20 to R30 (or less), with some only having 4-6″ of insulation compared to the 20″+ for new buildings. With staggering thickness differences like this, it is not hard to see that adding more insulation in your attic can only help to keep your building warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer.

Blown-In Dense Pack Cellulose Helps To Reduce Noise Transfer…Its More than just insulation!

Cellulose loose fiber insulation is an incredible insulator that offers customers a cost effective solution to add insulation in any project. Did you know it also has several other uses?

In this project, our customer was having difficulty with noise transfer between floors of a multi-family residence. The lower tenant was having problems with excessive noise being transferred from the upper unit to the lower through the upstairs floor assembly.

This was a finished unit downstairs, meaning there wasn’t a way to add a product like Rockwool Safe & Sound from downstairs between the floor joists.

The solution, cut access holes in the upstairs subfloor and blow in cellulose insulation to “dense pack” it in the joist cavities.

What was the end result…a 5-star review on our Google business page with a satisfied customer who stated “We are very pleased with the work and it has made a big difference in the sound between floors. We will definitely use them again for any future jobs and highly recommend them”
